Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the correct draw weight?
For beginners we generally recommend:
- 20–30 lbs for youth and beginners
- 25–35 lbs for most adult beginners
- 35–45 lbs for experienced archers
- 45 lbs and above for advanced archers
Choosing a bow that is too heavy can negatively affect technique and increase the risk of injury.
What draw length are the bow weights measured at?
All draw weights are measured at 28 inches unless otherwise specified.
Kassai bows are measured at 30 inches.
Are your bows suitable for beginners?
Yes. Many of our traditional bows are suitable for beginners. We recommend choosing a lighter draw weight when starting traditional archery.
Can left-handed archers use these bows?
Most traditional horsebows can be used by both right-handed and left-handed archers unless otherwise stated in the product description.
How should I string my bow?
Always string the bow carefully according to the instructions provided.
Before shooting, ensure that the string is centered on both siyahs.
If the siyahs become twisted during stringing, carefully twist them back into their correct position before use.
Can I leave my bow strung?
We recommend unstringing the bow after each shooting session. This helps preserve the bow's performance and lifespan.
What arrows should I use?
Arrow selection depends on your bow's draw weight, draw length, and shooting style.
If you are unsure which arrows to choose, contact us and we will gladly help you select the appropriate arrows.
What should I avoid when using my bow?
For safety and to prevent damage:
- Never dry-fire the bow (release the string without an arrow).
- Never shoot arrows straight into the air.
- Never exceed the maximum draw length specified for the bow.
- Never expose a strung bow to excessive heat or direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Never leave a bow inside a hot vehicle.
What should I do if my bow becomes hot?
If the bow has been exposed to high temperatures, allow it to cool to room temperature before stringing or shooting.
How should I maintain the bowstring?
Inspect the string regularly.
If the string becomes dry or frayed, apply bowstring wax using quick, firm strokes along the string.
Replace the string if significant wear is visible.
How should I store my bow?
Store the bow unstrung in a dry place at room temperature.
Avoid excessive heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
What warranty do you provide?
All bows are covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, dry-firing, exceeding the maximum draw length, or other misuse.

When stringing the bow, the lower end of it mustn't touch the ground and the upper end must be held and pressed under the bezel.
The middle of the hilt should lean up on the inside part of the thigh, while the lower end of the bow above the bezel should lean up on the outside of your lower leg.
Before using set the string in the middle of the siyahs.
We undertake 1 year guarantee for every bow!
In the course of using the bow keep that part upwards where you can see the name Grózer. (at Grózer's bow)
The C-shaped and composite bows should be strung crouching, the bow pressed to the knees.
Before using set the string in the middle of the siyahs. If the siyahs twisted during the stringing of the bow, they have to be set to the middle as well by twisting it to the opposite direction.
If the C-shaped bows are strung improperly its assymetry can be too much, so it should be twisted to the other direction to get the appropriate assymetry of the limbs.
- NEVER shoot an arrow straight up into the air. Don't draw back and release the string without any arrows.
- NEVER lean on the bow when drawn. After use, take the string off. After exteneded use the string may get thready and need waxing.
- When waxing, pull the wax onto the string with fast motions.
- NEVER leave a drawn bow in direct hot sun or in a car that's in a hot sun.
- If the bow gets very hot (e.g. having been carried in a car in summer) always wait until it cools down before stringing.
- NEVER draw the bow over the maximum draw length given above.
Each draw weight is given on 28 col. (except for the Kassai bows, ->draw weight is given on 30 col)
